Different personalities make this perfect team at ShowUp Planning, an elite event planning company in its seventh year of success.
Taylor (27) was born into a locally prominent family. Her mother was a military officer and her father was the owner of Gaines Construction, serving Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia. Her family stability began to diminish when, at the age of seven, she buried her parents. Years later she was placed in a group home, experiencing hard life lessons early. Her perseverance wouldn't let her be a victim. Using her inheritance, Taylor financed her education at VCU and later opened ShowUp Planning. In the midst of a merger with a bridal company, she is distracted by a hazel-eyed statue of a man; her new employee. Taylor is too busy to involve love in her life again. But she has to admit, it is more than a crush.
Renee (33) was raised by her grandparents after her mother was sentenced to life for killing Taylor's mother, her best friend. Despite the tragedy, Renee and Taylor's friendship flourished into a business partnership. Renee's husband, Jaime, was ready to marry her when they first met at a pumpkin patch. They both were fourteen. They spent their twenties focused on their careers. After eight years of marriage and success within their profession, it's time to expand their family. And they both enjoy trying.
Sebastian (31), nicknamed Bash, is the youngest of Renee's brothers. A novice corporate lawyer, he is a consultant to ShowUp Planning. His wife, Misha, is a public defender and the softer side of their marriage. Sebastian has political aspirations for Misha, understanding the oppositions she faces. Trying to conceive a child proves to be challenging, but nothing is going to stop them from having the family they want.
Malcolm (30) has known Taylor since their days in the group home. He lost his mom in a car accident as a youth. His father was an alcoholic and gambler, eventually losing custody of Malcolm. Seeing Taylor persistence to survive sparked him. He vowed to follow Taylor wherever she goes, becoming the financial manager of ShowUp Planning. He is a playboy that welcomes love to fall in his lap, preferably mouth open.
Rashaad (31), one of the new employees from the merger, became the media coordinator of ShowUp Planning. He also DJs at local clubs and events from Virginia to Florida, aspiring to be a music producer, like his father. Taylor caught his eye after she visited his previous employer, months before the merger. He doesn't mind compromising his new employment to get closer to his guarded boss.
Rhonda (32) oozes with privilege as the daughter of a Georgia state official. Her beautiful, exotic features has gotten her the princess treatment all of her life. She followed Rashaad, her high school sweetheart, to Virginia to rekindle their relationship. As a bridal consultant at ShowUp Planning, she excels at making brides feel like a queen, in hopes of having her own bridal experience soon. To her, Rashaad is the one, despite her infidelities. She knows he will come back to her. He always does. It's just a matter of time.
